Armenia and Georgia Ski Mountaineer
The volcanoes of Armenia and the Georgian Caucasus offer exceptional adventure skiing. A challenging trip for experienced ski mountaineers.
Our trip begins on Armenia’s highest mountain, 4095m Mt Aragats staying with the scientists at the Cosmic Ray Laboratories. After three days skiing where few have skied before we drive north into Georgia. More has been skied in Georgia but we are unlikely to encounter many other skiers as we skin and ski summits around the Georgian resort of Gudauri. The objective for the final part of the trip is 5047m Mt Kasbek, Georgia’s most famous mountain. Many of the essential ingredients for a memorable ski holiday are present - wild, unspoilt terrain, great summits, beautiful slopes and much of cultural interest particularly in the two capitals, Yerevan and Tbilisi. IFMGA guide Jim Kerr is joining me.
