Bernese Oberland - Switzerland

Switzerland

This is an ambitious programme to ski two of the finest ski mountaineering objectives in the Alps – the Gross Fiescherhorn 4049m and the Finsteraarhorn 4274m.

In addition to these summits we will ski through the heart of the Oberland massif, across the largest glaciers in the Alps, skiing several other peaks. My ninth spring tour to the area.

Everyone booked so far is going on to ski Mont Blanc, capitalising on the acclimatisation and preparation gained during the fun on this week.

Ratio 1:3

Skiing ability

You should be a competent off-piste skier/ski mountaineer capable of skiing slopes up to 35°. Carrying skis, axe and crampon work will be necessary.

Fitness

For all tours you should be able to enjoy ascending for 4 - 5 hours with a 10 - 12 kg rucksack. You should try to walk, run, cycle or swim as often as you can in preparation. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy your week.
